Preventing Cavities in Kids: Healthy Snacks and Drinks

As a pediatric dentist, I always emphasize the importance of choosing nutritious snacks and drinks to keep children’s teeth strong and cavity-free. I suggest parents incorporate fresh fruits, vegetables, low-sugar dairy products, and water into their children’s daily diet to help protect tooth enamel. Sugary beverages and sticky snacks can linger on teeth, elevating the risk of decay, so moderation is key. By offering wholesome choices and encouraging consistent brushing and flossing, I help families maintain bright, healthy smiles.
