    Some Fotona laser systems can be used during root canal treatment to activate the cleaning solution inside the canal. Recent evidence suggests pulsed Er:YAG laser activation may reduce short-term soreness after treatment in some cases, but it does not replace the standard steps of a root canal or prove better long-term healing.
